Week 4 (Day 29)

Happy 1 month!  One month down with only 1 slip-up!

Thanksgiving went well.  Mom Mazur is also doing low carb, so there was lots of On-Plan foods.  There was even low carb pecan pie which was amazing!

I made this SO GOOD broccoli salad:  http://www.modernlowcarb.com/recipes/2015/1/10/broccoli-bacon-salad-low-carb-gluten-free-ketogenic

There was turkey and mashed cauliflower (and regular mashed potatoes for those not on Keto), and Brussel sprouts with bacon and low carb cranberry sauce, and so on!  It was great...until it wasn't.  I've had some pretty bad tummy pains since thanksgiving.  I don't know if it's the food (a lot more greenery than usual), or if it's my, uh, monthly visitor who was 2 weeks (and 1 day) late and CRAZY heavy.  I just hope the tummy sadness clears up soon.

Anyway, nothing more to report.  I was off Wednesday - Saturday, so I was able to keep low carb without too many temptations.  Stefan and I went to a "Breakfast with Santa" yesterday and I gave him my pancakes and he gave me his eggs.  Good trade off!  Sadly, JJ did not love Santa, but we got a few usable pics:

Day 5

There is never really a great time to start a diet, but 4 days before Halloween was probably not ideal.  The past 4 days I've had long meetings filled with candy dishes: Someone refills it after every meeting, and the meetings are so stressful I desperately want some!  To help deal with the stress I've been going to the gym right after the meetings are over. We went trick or treating with JJ yesterday, and got a ton of candy even though it we only went to 4 houses.  No one was out because it was raining and cold, so every house we went to gave us handfuls of candy. I made sure Stefan took the candy bag to work because JJ can't eat it and I don't want the temptation. Today is the first day of the month, so work has "cake day" to celebrate all of the upcoming November Birthdays: I was super tempted to have candy this morning, but since I've been going to the gym and being SUPER productive afterwards, I didn't want to ruin it. Day 1

Yesterday, Stefan and I took JJ to a city Halloween trick-or-treat.  It was raining and cold and JJ cried pretty much the whole time.  Of course we only took smiling pictures:   I was so stressed out, I talked Stefan into going out for lunch.  We decided to go to Perkins.  We got there and I went to sit down and realized I couldn't fit in the booth.  I was so upset that we just left.  I am not upset with Perkins, this is 100% my fault.  When we got home, I weighed myself and I am up to 305.  Ever since giving birth to JJ I've been vacillating between 280 and 300, but never above. Stefan and I talked about it and we're both going to start calorie counting, while I'm going to do low carb as well.  I'm going to use this blog to keep me accountable, but also to vent about food temptations. To keep me accountable, here is my MFP account: https://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/Jeannettemazur  My goals for this new way of eati...

Day 9

I wasn't going to post today, but temptation reared it's ugly head, so I thought I'd share.  I got this email today: Seriously?  Why are they always feeding us here?!!!  Luckily I didn't get this email until I got back from the gym.  I am MOST motivated to stick to keto right after the gym!  Well, that and because I was at the gym I didn't see this email until an hour later, when all of the food was probably gone! As always my friends, KCKO
